Men's Chorus: The Men's Chorus began in March 1994 as a
result of the Salem Lutheran Men's Breakfast Group desire to have a
musical outreach program. The group began with seven singers with
Sue Petrea as director, along with Brandon Kepley on piano, in
the "Old Time Gospel" style. Over the years, their repertoire has
grown to include many of the old gospel hymns, a few patriotic
songs, and many old standards. They have grown to as many as twenty
seven men, and range in age from teens to eighties. They now have
a bass player, Garland Briggs. The Salem Men's Chorus is available
to sing at nursing homes, club and civic meetings, and other church
functions. Rehearsals are on Monday nights at 7:30 p.m.
