A Word of Welcome from
Pastor Doug Hefner, Youth and Family Minister

      Have you ever wondered why you are here?  Have you ever thought that your life has a God-given purpose?  Salem Youth and Family Ministry is dedicated to helping children, youth, and families experience God’s love in Christ and God’s purpose for their lives through meaningful ministry opportunities.  We have four youth groups at Salem for children and youth of all ages:
            I. Kid’s Club is for preschool age through grade 1.
            II. The Eagles: Grades 2-4.
            III. Middle School Youth includes grades 5-7.
            IV. High School Youth includes grades 8-12.
 As a purpose driven Youth and Family Ministry we will strive to live out God’s purpose for our lives and for His Church through the Great Commandment (read Matthew 22:37-40) and the Great Commission (read Matthew 28:19-20).  Out of these two key passages come the five Biblical purposes for our lives and for Youth and Family Ministry:
            1. Worship  

            2. Ministry
            3. Evangelism 
            4. Fellowship 
            5. Discipleship

Get in the F.L.O.W. of the Holy Spirit

This year our Youth and Family Ministry Theme is “Get Into the F.L.O.W. of the Spirit!”   Getting into the F.L.O.W. means:
F- Faith in the Lord Jesus that results in Fellowship with God and one another;
L- Learning (discipleship) through reading and studying God’s Word and other experiential activities;
O- Outreach to others through service (ministry) and witness (evangelism); and
W – Worship God through praise & prayer, the proclaiming of the Good News, and purpose-driven lives!
     You have received the invitation from our Lord Jesus himself: Come and drink, believe in me, find refreshment and new life, and get in the flow of my love in the power of the Spirit so that out of your life may flow the life-giving water of God’s grace and love!   So let’s get into the F.L.O.W. - get involved at Salem Youth and Family Ministry this year and find joy, refreshment, and purpose in being in the FLOW!
